August 2020: Badlands Coffee Co.

The team at Secret Sip Coffee Club is ecstatic to reveal August’s secret roasting partner. Rocking it in the badlands of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, is a truly gifted team of coffee artisans bound by the strong ties of family. Badlands Coffee Co. has indelibly altered the coffee landscape of Southwestern Saskatchewan.

Dallas and his wife have an incredible story that needed to be told. Their joint passion for the most perfect cup of liquid love has been deeply rooted in their annual traditions for years:

“Little did we know a seemingly simple tradition would kick-start our coffee roasting adventure. For as long as we've been married, the first gift exchanged on Christmas morning has been a bag of whole bean specialty coffee to enjoy while watching our kids open gifts. Years went by and our interest in the specialty coffee world grew."

It was not until Dallas' sister gifted the dynamic owners a bag of small batch specialty coffee that was roasted in Calgary, Alberta, that the true potential of their joint passion emerged. Catalyzed by this flavorful enlightenment delivered from a source so very close to home, Dallas received a sack of green beans and a small table top roaster for his birthday. One thing led to another and Dallas soon found himself roasting for friends and family, quickly outgrowing that little roaster and Badlands Coffee Co. was born! In 2018, the couple were excited to invest in a larger roaster and officially launch Badlands Coffee Co.
