March 2021: White Goat Coffee
Secret Sip Coffee Club is happy to officially reveal March’s majestic secret roasting partner. As the owners of the roastery like to say, all good stories begin with a journey... the journey of White Goat Coffee Roasters, roasting out of their magical barn in the wild woods of northern BC, Terrace BC to be exact, started in a small village market in the Gayo Highlands of Sumatra with their very first purchase of green coffee beans. These beans were brought back to Northern BC and home-roasted. As they like to admit, “This wasn’t the best cup of coffee we've ever had, but these beans sparked our passion to share the magic of small-batch coffee roasting with our friends.”
All of White Goat’s blends are named to celebrate their passion for amazing coffee and wilderness adventures. The team selects only the finest coffee beans and roast them slowly and carefully to highlight their unique flavors.
To provide the freshest coffee through small-batch roasting, the team’s founding principles are:
· Maintain a high-quality product with a focus on freshness & flavour
· Celebrate our local outdoor environment
· Build partnerships in the community (it takes a village!)
· Establish sound environmental practices wherever possible

This month’s offering to our club members was the White Goat’s single origin from Guatemala. The producer, Ricardo Zelaya from the New Oriente region produced this sublime product via a natural washing and patio drying process and which includes varieties of Bourbon, Caturra, Catuai, Villa Sarchi, and Pacas at an elevation of 1000-1200 meters. The characteristics of this meaningful cup reveals notes milk Chocolate, Caramel, Almond, and raisins. To sum it up, it basically tastes like a CARAMILK bar in a cup!
