We are pumped to share the spotlight with July’s secret roaster roasting out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Forged out of the efforts of a decade-long coffee journey by one of the founders, this roaster is rapidly attracting attention from the discerning pallets in the Vancouver area with a truly remarkable approach to the quality of coffee they roast!
It is our pleasure to introduce June’s secret roaster roasting out of Verdun, Quebec. This relatively new roaster to the rapidly developing coffee scene in greater Montreal area is making a large impact with its pure approach to roasting.
This month we were pumped to welcome Other Brothers Roasters to the Secret Sip family! Passionate about roasting specialty coffee in the heart of the prairies since 2012, Other Brother Roasters has grown to recently open their retail and roasting facility in Winkler, Manitoba. What began as a project of passion from home a mere six years ago has transformed into a liquid-gold watering hole in the heart of downtown Thunder Bay for many of the city’s residents.
Secret Sip Coffee Club is beyond pumped to announce our newest roasting partner roasting out of historic Quebec City, Brûlerie Rousseau. This roaster’s history is beyond a doubt one of the oldest we have uncovered across Canada to date. Established in 1867, this 150-year-old company is a force to be reckoned with!

Roasti Coffee Co. is a fantastic micro-roaster which strives for excellence in roasting and direct contact with all of their suppliers. Roasti has an exclusive agreement with the farmer of the lovely roast our members have been fortunate to sample, and is the only roaster in Canada to be using them.

Roasting out of a magnificent repurposed barn with an amazing view on the picturesque edge of the Chaleur Bay in the Gaspé Peninsula, Québec, this month’s secret roaster is Brulerie Du Quai, and they have certainly outdone themselves with yet another remarkable single origin.

In our search of Canada’s best coffee, Secret Sip Coffee Club identified a beautiful Secret Single Origin which just needed to be shared! Fortunately, the timing of this month’s roast which has been curated by an inspiring roaster based in Charlottetown, PEI worked well with the larger celebration occurring around Canada this July. We thought we would jump on the Canada 150 train and thus partnered with a roaster who indubitably has a peculiar proximity to the location of Canada’s Confederation. It is with great pleasure that we present Receiver Coffee Roasters.
In search of Canada’s best coffee, Secret Sip Coffee Club is kicking off the summer in hipster fashion. To explain, we identified a fantastic and dedicated small-batch specialty coffee roaster located in Wakefield, Quebec. Bluebarn Coffee Roasters derives its unique name from the idyllic blue barn the company’s founders built to serve as its fully-equipped roaster! The space looks absolutely phenomenal (see below), and the team at Bluebarn are even more exceptional!
For the month of May, Secret Sip Coffee Club decided it was time for 2017’s second single origin to be released. We could not be more thrilled to present a truly incredible roaster located in Burnaby, BC – Social Coffee Roasters. As the name indicates, the team at Social really stuck out in our search to highlight the embodiment of a true passion for the artisan craft, love for community and sustainability, and critical focus on ethically sourced, organic and fair trade beans.
For the month of April, Secret Sip Coffee Club is proud to present a very unique micro-roaster operating out of Winnipeg, Manitoba – Sheepdog Coffee Co. We were once again at their commitment to freshness and quality of their small batches. In fact on their website, they indicate that “We hardly ever keep stock on hand, ensuring our product is how we'd want it.” - in reference to their roasting philosophy. Sheepdog’s pursuit of knowledgeable, ethical and committed source partners was a real draw for us.
It is with the utmost pleasure that Secret Sip Coffee Club introduces March’s secret roaster operating out of Regina, Saskatchewan. This roaster caught our eye primarily due to their testament to small batch artisanship and meticulous attention to detail.
Secret Sip Coffee Club takes great pleasure in introducing February’s secret roaster operating out of Canmore, Alberta. This Rocky Mountain town might seem like an unlikely place to find an elaborate third wave roaster, however, after stumbling upon the team via a referral from a friend in the area, we were pleasantly surprised.
We could not be happier to reveal December’s secret roaster from the far east of our lovely country. Residing in St. John’s Newfoundland, we present to you Jumping Bean, a true East Coast gem which has developed a quasi “cult” following.
For November’s issue, we reached out to a lovely micro-roaster located in Kelowna, BC, the heart of the Okanagan Valley. After several hours of passion driven discussion with their team, we decided to sample their product offering. We could not have been happier with our choice.
For October’s secret roast, we decided to select a unique roaster located in the heart of Waterloo, Ontario after being tipped off by one of our coffee connoisseurs traveling through the area.
For the release of our September shipment, we have selected a dynamic independent roaster located in the “hip” North end of Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was approximately four years ago that we stumbled upon Java Blend during one of several visits to the East Coast. The passion and joy exhibited by all of the team at Java Blend perpetuated a seemingly stereotypical vibe common across various cities in Nova Scotia.
