For February, Secret Sip Coffee Club is delighted to feature Old Rock Coffee Co., a roaster that has been part of Canada’s coffee landscape for more than a decade. Based in Sudbury, Ontario, Old Rock represents Northern Ontario’s resilient and community-minded spirit — roasting with authenticity and heart, and serving both locals and coffee lovers across the country.

Old Rock was founded by coffee professionals with deep roots in the region, united by a mission to elevate Northern Ontario’s coffee culture through quality and storytelling. Their café and roastery have become a cornerstone of Sudbury’s downtown revival, drawing inspiration from mining heritage while embracing the innovation of third-wave roasting.

The team’s values emphasize ethical sourcing, small-batch precision, and freshness. Each blend and single-origin offering is carefully profiled to highlight body, sweetness, and depth, making their coffees as approachable as they are refined.

This month’s secret roast is one of Old Rock’s most beloved house blends — a balanced combination of Central and South American beans grown between 1,200 and 1,600 MASL. Roasted to a smooth medium, the blend delivers tasting notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, and subtle dried fruit with a velvety finish. It’s a versatile cup that captures the warmth and craftsmanship of Northern Ontario coffee culture.
