October 2018's Roaster of the Month: Kohi

An exceptional secret roaster for an exceptional group of members! Secret Sip Coffee Club is pumped to unveil our choice for October’s Secret Roaster! Absolutely rocking it out of Prévost, Quebec, KŌHĪ - Micro-torréfacteur completly owned October’s secret mail out with another amazing single origin!

KOHI is "coffee" in Japanese.

For Daniel Moranville, the real passion for coffee started after a trip to Japan in 2014. After spending hundreds of hours learning the role of barista, it was now time to take the experience to the next level.  Bringing out the origin of the grain by roasting coffees with more personality is the only goal.

Without taking anything away from the Italian tradition and the big commercial coffees, roasting coffee from small independent producers, micro-lots with better quality control is what ignited the powder of the Kohi project.

This month’s offering was an exceptional micro lot. The PAWA single origin from Colombia had notes sweet molasses and orange honey blossom honey, peach, and floral tea! Secret Sip Coffee Club is thrilled to have partnered with KŌHĪ - Micro-torréfacteur to bring you this month’s secret roast, and what we believe to be, one of Canada’s best coffees.
