July 2025: Somewhere Coffee Co.
July 2025 – Somewhere Coffee Co.
July’s secret roasting partner hails from Sherwood Park, Alberta — Somewhere Coffee Co., a micro-roastery built by husband-and-wife team Jeremy and Amanda. Known for their artistic approach and relentless dedication to quality, Somewhere Coffee has become one of Alberta’s most inspiring coffee stories.
The duo founded the roastery to share their love of exploration, sourcing distinct coffees that reveal the full diversity of the world’s regions. Jeremy leads the roasting, focusing on clarity and fruit expression, while Amanda’s creative direction shapes their visual identity and storytelling.
Their philosophy celebrates transparency and connection. Each lot is sourced through relationships that support smallholder farmers and reward sustainable, environmentally conscious practices. They strive to roast in a way that preserves the unique terroir of each origin while maintaining consistency across every batch.
This month’s coffee is from Finca Carrizalito in Nuevo Oriente, Guatemala, grown at 1,200 MASL. It’s a Caturra and Bourbon varietal, fully washed and patio-dried. The result is a beautifully balanced cup with medium body, crisp acidity, and tasting notes of milk chocolate, orange zest, and roasted pecan. It is elegant, refined, and unmistakably Guatemalan.
Secret Sip Coffee Club, Canada’s coffee club, is pleased to have partnered with Somewhere Coffee Co. to bring you this month’s secret roast, and what we believe to be one of Canada’s best coffees.
